Pete Stark on Defending our Country
Defending our country has always been
important. The ongoing terrorist threats have allowed some members of Congress
to abandon restraint on defense spending. Pete Stark believes we should
spend money to ensure that our soldiers can support their families, receive
effective training to complete their missions, and have equipment necessary
to do their jobs. Unfortunately, we are wasting billions of dollars on pie-in-the-sky
missile defense systems that won't work, on weapons systems that are designed
to fight wars against massive Soviet style armies that no longer exist, and
on three identical fighter planes. Pete supports reasonable defense spending
that actually improves our national security.
